The biggest myth is that lash extensions ruin your own lashes. They do not. If applied correctly and properly, they are safe and do not ruin the health of your natural lashes. Be sure not to rub your eyes or tug or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss and even damage to your natural lashes.
You can get lash mites, also known as demodex, on your lash extensions. … So many women who get extensions are scared to get their extensions wet and don’t clean them well. Please don’t use mascara when you are wearing your extensions and clean with a proper lash shampoo.
How often should I be coming in for lash refills? We recommend getting refills every 2 to 4 weeks. If you wait too long your extensions will fall out and you will require a full set. Factors such as exposure to humidity, steam or touching your eyes a lot may cause the extensions to fall quicker.
But I can assure you…your lashes will not fly away with you in the wind. When to get them: I would recommend trying them out before any big occasions, like a wedding, because they are a lot to handle and they’re going to take a little bit of getting used to.
- They look fabulous. More dramatic than mascara, yet far more natural than a strip of (or individual) false eyelashes, lash extensions are simply stunning when done right.
- They’re instantly gratifying. Lash extensions deliver the gorgeous lashes you want with one appointment, and you won’t have to bother applying and removing mascara every day, or worry about mascara flaking, running, or smearing.
- They can save you time. Some people say that because lash extensions look just as good if you aren’t wearing makeup, you can forego this time-consuming step in the morning. We’re not convinced about this as you still have to find the time twice a month to get the extensions filled in, so it more or less evens out.
- They can last for months and beyond.Typically, lash extensions stay looking good for 2 to 3 weeks, but beyond that, all of them will gradually fall out on their own. However, with regular fills, your overall lash extensions will last indefinitely.
You shouldn’t remove eyelash extensions at home. Removing them yourself can pull out your actual lashes, since the extensions are attached strand by strand and can lead to bald spots that take a while to grow back.
